Chicago Bears Roster and Contracts

The Chicago Bears are a historic NFL franchise, founded in 1920, that has maintained a loyal fanbase over the years. With the 2021 season fast approaching, it`s important to know who will be on the Bears` roster and what contracts they have in place.

One of the biggest moves the Bears made this offseason was signing quarterback Andy Dalton to a one-year, $10 million contract. Dalton was brought in to compete with Nick Foles for the starting quarterback job, but the Bears also traded up in the NFL draft to select Justin Fields out of Ohio State. While Fields may not start immediately, he is expected to be a key part of the team`s future plans.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Bears have some key players returning from injury. Wide receiver Allen Robinson, who was franchise tagged this offseason, missed a game last year due to injury but still put up impressive numbers with 102 receptions for 1,250 yards. Tight end Jimmy Graham also dealt with injuries but finished with 50 receptions for 456 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Bears` defense is also a key part of the team`s success. The team is led by defensive end Khalil Mack, who is one of the best pass-rushers in the league. Mack is signed through the 2024 season and carries a cap hit of $26.6 million this year. The Bears also have a strong secondary led by cornerback Jaylon Johnson and safety Eddie Jackson.

The team`s special teams unit is also an important part of their success. Kicker Cairo Santos was signed to a three-year extension this offseason after a standout year in 2020, where he hit 30 of 32 field goals.

As for contracts, the Bears have some key players who are set to become free agents after the 2021 season. Robinson is one of those players, and while the team could still work out a long-term deal with him, it remains to be seen if they will. In addition, the team has several players with contracts that could be restructured to create more cap space.

While the Bears have some uncertainties heading into the 2021 season, they still have a talented roster that can compete in the tough NFC North division. With solid players on both sides of the ball and some exciting young talent, the Bears could surprise a lot of people this year.
